"The little 4˝-inch bird let out a sizzling vocal burst, a tune reminiscent of u,u,u,u, don’t see me now. Well, I did see him, and it was quite a show. I knew right away this was a Bewick’s wren, seeing clearly the underside white tail patches.
I also knew something else was happening here because the bird was highly agitated and "nervous." I moved closer and looked down the hole into the depths of the old snag, and there it was, a nest with several pairs of little eyes staring back at me. I carefully backed away – and left the wren family to itself".
