THAT Lake
I was involved in a guide book for Mount Rainier in Washington. It is THE mountain here, in a land of more mountains than you can count. Indeed, 80 named peaks can be seen from downtown Port Townsend, my hometown. When we came to deciding which image should grace the cover, we all agreed that Reflection Lake, one of the most photographed places in the Park, should also be the painting. It's the contrast of that scene, with the few sedges in the water backed by the peak with 27 glaciers, that I truly find remarkable.
