Manzanita Lake
Sitting below the peak like a reflecting pool, the northwest corner of Manzanite Lake never fails to make perfect reverse images of the peak behind it. When I was commissioned to paint a mural for the Lassen Association, there was discussion about where, which section of the park, which corner of the Peak. There wasn't any doubt in My mind, however, as this is my favorite spot of them all. It's what National Parks are all about, the sublime vision of what "Nature" is all about.
